ESPORT Guide

If you wish to view information on navigating the main ESPORT site that clients use, it is suggested you download and/or print the ESPORT User Guide. This is a start-up guide for facilitators who have not had formal training in ESPORT, and a refresher guide for those who have. This guide may also be of interest to Clients who want to know more about what ESPORT is, and how these activities and exercises will help their lives.


Privacy Policy

This document discloses information gathering and dissemination practices as they apply to individual site Users. ESPORT collects information from its Users at several different points on its Web site.


Our Commitment
All volunteered information is kept confidential and we have safeguards in place to protect your information, prevent unauthorized access and maintain and ensure the correct use of this information. We do not share or resell any personal, organization, demographic or email information collected through our processes with other companies or entities.

Website Logging
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers, which serve as that computer's Internet Protocol, "IP" address. When a visitor requests a page from ESPORT, our Web servers automatically recognize that visitor's domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We use this information to examine our traffic in aggregate, but do not collect and evaluate this information for individuals. We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily submit such information to us, by filling out a form, survey, or emailing us.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. ESPORT uses cookies to track which areas of our site are most visited for the purpose of better optimization and user experience. This information is never shared with or sold to any third parties. Cookies are removed upon logout or can be removed by following these directions on: learning about cookies & how to disable cookies.

Third Party Links
ESPORT will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to any third parties. So, for example, we do not sell your email addresses or your name and personal demographic information to mass marketers. This policy only addresses our activities from our servers. This Web site contains links to Web sites that are not under our control. We are not responsible for the content, commentary or applications of these Web Sites.

ESPORT Client Facilitation

The following information provides help navigating the ESPORT-Facilitators site. To view information on navigating the main ESPORT site that clients use, download and/or print the ESPORT Facilitator's Guide. This document outlines startup tips for facilitators who have not had formal training in ESPORT, and a refresher guide for those who have. This guide may also be of interest to Clients who want to know more about what ESPORT is, and how these activities and exercises will help their lives.


FACILITATOR ACCOUNTS

Creating Facilitator Accounts
To create a Facilitator account you will need to access the Site Management module.

Modifying Facilitator Accounts
To modify a Facilitator account please first access the Site Management module and select the "edit" button that corresponds to the name of the facilitator from the list of those available. You will be instructed to make the desired modifications and press the save button when you are finished. You will be returned to the details page upon completion of the processing of these modifications.

Deleting Facilitator Accounts
To delete a Facilitator account please first view the details of that Facilitator. You will then be provided with the option to edit or delete the account for that Client. If the account to be deleted has Client accounts assigned to them you first be required to transfer those accounts to another Facilitator.



CLIENT ACCOUNTS
To view the details of a Client account, view the complete listing of Client accounts in order to select the individual record that you wish to view. The detailed record will display the Completion Status for that Client which includes specifics on the following:

  • The Essential Skills Self Assessment (Results of the user's participation)
  • The Interest Inventory (Pattern of Interests) results
  • The number and details of any Portfolios Saved
  • The existence of any Learning Plans
  • Plato Registration information

You can also Edit Personal Details, Reset Passwords, and manage the Client's Plato account subscription.

Creating Client Accounts
To create a Client account you will need to supply some basic information for that Client. By filling out and submitting this form, an email will be sent the address given. The email will contain a randomly generated access code that the user will supply along with their email address to finalize the activation of their account.

Modifying Client Accounts
To modify a Client account, view the Details of that user. You will then be provided with the option to edit or delete the account for that Client.

Changing Password
To reset a password for a Client account, view the Details of that user and select the Edit option. Once within the Edit module, you will be provided with the option to reset the password for that Client.

Deleting Client Accounts
To delete a Client account, please view the details of that user. You will then be provided with the option to edit or delete the account for that Client.



OCCUPATION DETAILS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

There are 3 different methods of locating an occupation, in order to view its details and essential skill requirements.

  1. If you know the NOC (National Occupation Classification) number for the occupation, you can enter it, and an exact match will be produced, if one is available.
  2. You can search within ten general occupation categories, and browse through the specific occupations listed under these categories.
  3. You can browse through the entire list of occupations that are available through ESPORT, in alphabetical order.

If you use method 2, click on an Occupation Category, and you will be shown a list of occupations within that chosen category that are available to view. A brief description of the occupation is provided, along with the most important Essential Skills for that occupation. Selecting the link of an occupation title will direct you to a comprehensive description which will outline the Essential Skill Requirements and also the Pattern of Interest Details as assessed by the Interest Inventory. You may also view the available Online Learning Materials, and access Job Prospects for information on the employment prospects for each occupation.



ONLINE LEARNING MATERIALS

The available Online Learning Materials are listed below. Please note that the complete listing of occupation-specific Online Learning Materials are only available once an occupation had been selected.

AUTHENTIC MATERIALS (Specific and General Authentic Materials)
These are actual documents used in the workplace, and will give you an idea of the documents that people in this occupation work with every day. A search/browse function is available to locate skill sheets of a particular skill type and/or complexity level.


MESSAGE SYSTEM

You may use the ESPORT Message System to send brief messages to any of the Client Accounts that you have permission to manage. Though this system is not designed to replace the functionality of a regular email system it does allow communication between the Client and a Facilitator or a Site administrator without the disclosure of contact information to a Client.

Options available include viewing messages in your InBox and quick alerts to any unread messages that have been sent to you. You may also check the read status of all outgoing messages to a Client account, to determine if a message has been read and/or replied to. It is important to note that your messages are saved for 21 days. At the end of this period they are deleted from the system automatically.



MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT
To modify your account, please access the My Account menu item at the top of each page. You will be instructed to make the desired modifications and press the Save button when you are finished.
